Homeopathy

Homeopathy has been in use around the world for nearly two hundred years. In fact, it may surprise you to learn that homeopathy was an important medical treatment at the beginning of the twentieth century - until a “split” from “conventional “ (allopathic) medicine occurred, deepened by the discovery of the first anti-biotic.

It is not only still in existence today, but increasingly turned to by those who wish to find help to regain their health, or to maintain an optimal level of function of all systems of the body, by methods that work gently with the Body/ Mind dynamic.

This holistic approach takes a wider view of illness, the causes of illness and pays attention to the ways people express their illness as individuals. The 16th Century philosopher and physician Paracelsus said: “Those who merely study and treat the effects of disease are like those who imagine that they can drive away the winter by brushing snow from the door. It is not the snow that causes the winter, but the winter that causes the snow.”

Homeopaths view physical, emotional and mental - even spiritual - illnesses as intimately connected aspects of the patient’s problem. The aim, therefore, is not just to drive away the symptoms but help the patient deal with the cause of the symptoms and regain good health.
